Day 1 & 2 – Repair & Preparation

We will start the day by taking you through the assessment process and then moving onto pricing, calculating timescales, and finally understanding that it’s not the size of damage but the effects on the rest of the paint job that is important.

Next you will be learning to apply professional techniques and processes to fix any damage on a vehicle. During the course of the day, you’ll be given access to a vehicle body part or one of our training demo cars. After we have covered all the appropriate repair options and types of damage, you will work on and fix it under our guidance. The idea is that all types of damage can be fixed and that not every all vehicle damages are the same.

Next you will learning how to remove parts and panels off from vehicles. We will also be covering tips on how to label and correctly store all nuts, bolts, screws and any other fixings ready for when the stripped parts and panels are needed to be put back on to the vehicle.

Day 3 – Preparation & Fundamentals

You will now learn the basics of pulling dents, everything you need to know about panel beating and how to fill them with body filler. After you have learnt these techniques, you’ll see that it’s really not as complicated as it might seem to achieve this type of repair.

We will complete the repair to provide the perfect finish ready for paint.

We will cover through the fundamentals of the body shops. Covering types of paint, primer, lacquer, thinners’ and all other paint related products, Air flows and Compressors, Mixing paint, spray guns and spray methods.

Now we will cover and show how we get the finish above the rest. Coaching our methods and techniques and a chance for you to practice before applying them to your repair.

After the completion of the day you will have a great understanding behind the techniques by body shops and Smash Paintwork

Day 4 & 5 – Paint

Time To Pull The Trigger

This is the final day of the course and gives you the opportunity to complete paining and lacquer to your repair. We will provide guidance on how to move around the spray paint booth with all its different angles and difficulties involved.

From blending to lacquer, we’re going to be working with a number of mediums, techniques and products to paint our panels in preparation for the finish coat.

The training is usually completed. We will always be at the end of the phone after the course for guidance or can provide a 1 day course on any further or additional guidance.
